December 2007

    Dear Prayer Support Team,

Thank God with us for the safe and healthy arrival of the newest member of our missionary team!New-Baby Trinity Rose Yeiter was born on October 8 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our coworkers, the Yeiters, are thankful for God’s blessing and protection, and they are looking forward to getting back to Cameroon in June. Please pray for them as they continue to travel and update their supporting churches over the next several months.

During the first week of October, Pastor Terry Hamilton came out to Cameroon to teach an evangelism course called Netcasters. Several fundamental churches from around the country participated in this week of training. Our people began memorizing verses weeks before the actual seminar, and when the time came, more than 15 of our people participated. About 80 professions of faith in Christ were made during this week, as those in training would go out each evening to boldly proclaim the Gospel! What a blessing it has been to see an increase in attendance and an increase in the boldness of our people as they go out for weekly evangelism.

Another exciting update from the month of October concerns the four-member mission team from our home church. Marleen Sykes (Becca’s mom), Sarah Spriggs, and Gerald and Kathy Whitely visited us for more than two weeks. Our entire family was greatly encouraged by “Mimi” and our friends from Calvary Independent Baptist Church of Chattanooga.

We want to thank all of you who especially prayed for Brother Gerald’s ministry. “Professor Gerald,” asGerald-Whitely he is called here, was able to share his “Science vs. Evolution” seminar 22 times with more than 4,000 students. This statistic does not include one general assembly of about 5,000 high school students! He was invited to speak in public and private schools. He destroyed the theory of evolution and shared Christ with students of all ages. One particularly exciting opportunity was an invitation to speak at a teacher training university. How exciting it is to think that these 500 teachers in training will soon be teaching ALL OVER CAMEROON! They all were confronted with the fact the evolution is a lie, and that Jesus Christ is their only hope for salvation. Several students have since been visiting ourchurches as a direct result of Brother Gerald’s ministry with us.

One outstanding event that took place last month was the home going of our dear brother, Yong Providence. Brother Providence has been a student in the Fundamental Bible Institute all three years I have been teaching there. He used to come down to Bamenda every Friday for our weekly evangelism and outreach and was a very close friend and partner in the ministry. His powerful testimony was a strong encouragement to all who knew him. While we know that his physical absence means that he is now present with the Lord, his empty seat at the Bible institute is a constant reminder of Christ’s command. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matt. 9:38). Brother Providence’s promotion has left a huge hole in the ministry in Cameroon. Will you ask the Lord if He might allow you to stand in the gap here in Cameroon?

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and support. Holidays are not always easy on those serving overseas. Whether in the U.S. military, like Becca’s brother in Iraq, or our family in the Lord’s army serving here in Cameroon, we all appreciate your support and prayers. What a privilege we have to serve the King of the universe who “sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh” (Rom. 8:3). May we all be reminded afresh that the baby of the manger was born to die for us. May we in turn LIVE for Him!

All to the glory of God,
Ben, Becca, Drew, Kate, Emma, and Faith An
